Reconsideration

Plain-English definitions for England and Wales. General information, not legal advice. Laws and figures change - always check the current position on GOV.UK.

Reconsideration A request asking the tribunal to look again at a judgment where it is necessary in the interests of justice - for example because of a procedural mishap or new evidence that could not reasonably have been available before. It is not a general appeal; a point of law goes to the Employment Appeal Tribunal instead.

Also known as: reconsideration of judgment
